How do I find out whether my new zfs-fuse version Y installation performs normally or sub-optimally, given hardware X?

We need some "typical" developer- or expert-approved performance figures here (bonnie... any other tests?). It would also help to discuss the key factors that may influence performance in typical scenarios (say, zfs-fuse as backup with or without dedup, zfs-fuse as an underlying file system for a database) or point new users to some external tuning tips (if they apply to zfs-fuse!). Ideally, zfs-fuse should come with specific benchmarks that validate the performance of a new configuration.

Where should we put such data? I have the capability of running bonnie and others on a decent sized system and would be happy to contribute. I'll do the testing if someone wants to create the testcase.
